How your website's hosting handles data. Last updated 6 October 2026.

Who this is

This panel and the hosting behind apexautomotivellc.com are run by the operator of this hosting service. Where this page says “we”, that's who it means. You are the site's owner: the people who visit your site, fill in your forms or buy from your shop are your customers, and their details belong to you. We only store and process them to run your site for you. This is a small, independent service, and this page describes honestly how it works.

What is stored

  • Your site's content: pages, blog posts, photos, shop products and settings.
  • What your visitors send you: contact-form messages, orders (name, email, delivery address, items), and accounts on your site if you offer them. Account passwords are stored scrambled (hashed), never as written.
  • Your panel login: your password is stored hashed. One cookie keeps you logged in to this panel; it is the only cookie the panel sets.
  • Billing: your invoices and whether they're paid.
  • If your site is connected to GitHub: the connection details needed to fetch and publish your code.

Visitor statistics

The stats page counts page views and visitors without cookies. A visitor is counted from a scrambled fingerprint that changes every day and can't be turned back into an address or followed from one day to the next. The web server's own log, which does include visitors' internet addresses, is a small rolling file kept only briefly for security and troubleshooting.

Notices

If Discord notices are switched on, by you for your site or by us for the service, a short alert is sent through Discord when something happens (for example “new contact message from Jane”). An alert about one of your visitors carries a name at most, never their message, passwords or payment details. A change request you send us through this panel is included in our alert, so we can get started on it.

Payments

Card payments, for your shop and for your hosting invoices, are handled by Stripe. Card numbers go straight to Stripe and are never seen or stored here. Shop payments go to the Stripe account you connect, under your agreement with Stripe.

The password vault

If you use the password vault, everything in it is locked on your own device with your master password before it is sent. We store only the locked version. We cannot read your vault and cannot reset your master password; if you forget it, the vault can't be recovered. Keeping your master password safe is up to you.

Where it's kept, and backups

Everything is stored on a server in the United States run by OVHcloud. A backup of your site's content is taken every night and kept for 7 days; you can download or restore these yourself from the backups page. Backups are a safety net, not a guarantee: please download a copy of anything you couldn't afford to lose.

How it's looked after

We take sensible steps to protect what's stored here: encrypted connections, hashed passwords, tightly restricted access to the server, regular security updates and nightly backups. No website or server can be made perfectly secure, though, and things outside our control can happen. We look after your data as carefully as we reasonably can, but we can't promise that nothing will ever go wrong.

Your part

  • Keep your panel password private, and tell us if you think someone else has it.
  • What you publish, and how you use your customers' details, is your responsibility, including answering their requests about their information.
  • Keep your own copy of anything important.

Who can see it

You, through this panel. We can open your panel and your site's data when it's needed to support you, fix a problem or keep the service secure, and not for anything else. Nothing is sold, shared for advertising, or used to train anything. Information is only handed over if the law requires it.

Leaving, and deleting things

You can download a full backup of your content at any time. If you stop using the service, your site, its data and its backups are deleted on request. If one of your customers asks you to delete their details, you can remove their messages, orders and account from the panel, or ask us to.

If something goes wrong

If we find out that your data was lost, or accessed by someone who shouldn't have had it, we'll let you know as soon as we reasonably can and tell you what we know.

This page explains how things work. It isn't a guarantee of uninterrupted or error-free service.
